Dear Abvent,
Like some of the others on this blog, my expectations on going from version 5 to 6.5 were soon crushed. I am hoping that I just don’t know how to effectively operate the new engine, however after many tweaks and trials, I have come to the conclusion that this software is not what it was promoted as being. Using the same model exported from Archicad Solo 20 with up-to-date plugins, the render times for 6.5 are from 5 to 8 times longer than what I have experienced with version 5. And even in order to get the times down to thoseI have had to sacrificed quality so that even taking 5 to 8 times longer, the quality is less good too.
Unless there is something fundamentally wrong with how I’m setting thing (pretty much trying to duplicate the settings in version 5), then this upgrade has been a bust. I have to use version 5 to get my work done.
Can you shed some light on this? I think my hardware is adequate.
