i can’t find the setting box to deactivate the shadow from the heliodons anymore. that’s a bug, isn’t it?
today i’ve installed release 6.5.2.12. …and still no setting box to deactivate the shadows from the heliodons. OH MY GOD - why not?
The only way to deactivate the shadow is to not use the heliodon but an HDRI or light plane instead.
I have a problem with this.
does anyone knows a simple solution for a general illumination of a scene without any shadows?
Hello,
It is not a bug, it is a choice, as the rendering engine is now physical, we have removed the check box, because in the real world the sun does project shadows !
What is your purpose in removing the sun shadows ?
Best regards,
I don’t know just how am stgt would use it, but I can definitely see a use for rendering a scene with an overcast sky. No shadows would be more realistic that the hard shadows the sun produces in Artlantis. In the real world, the sun creates a whole range of shadows from hard and clear to soft and vague, depending on atmospheric conditions. In the real world the sky also contributes to lighting intensity and color - I don’t think Artlantis does this(?).
Not to be negative - I’m very happy with Artlantis - but I’d like to see the physical engine even more realistic…
