CANNOT SAVE FILE ERROR

Please, there may be a problem saving in Artlantis Studio 6.5.2.12.
When working on a project and save it, then it pretends as if its saving but comes up with error such as cannot save file.
Before saving, the file exist in the folder, but after saving Artlantis automatically delete the file and gives the error cannot save file.
I tried several format such as Atl file, Atla file and Atlo file. the opend file could not save in anyway except you close it and loose the file.
This happens 1 out of 7 times when working with Artlantis studio.
I’ve had to open the file location to check if the file is there before saving, and while saving, the file disappear from the folder to my eyes.
Any quick solutions would be appreciated.

Hello,

What is the original format of your file ?
skp, obj, dwf, dwg, … ?
do you have the Auto Save feature active ?
what system are you using ?
could you attach the log corresponding to the time you had the error.

*The original file format is atl. saved from Archicad. It happens on both .atl & .atla
*Auto save feature is not active.
*I’m using windows on mac pro and macbook pro, it happens on both system.

  • No log was created since the file was automatically deleted.

The log should be in the log folders, you can open it through the menu « Informations > Logs folder »
Artlantis saves up to 10 versions of the log along with crashlogs if there are any, each time it is restarted.

Two more questions:

  • in the screenshot you have an opened an atlo. Are you trying to save as archive or as atlo ?
  • Did you use a reference file when exporting from ArchiCAD ?

Thanks. I checked and didn’t see any log files in respect of the date created for it.
In this particular case, sketchup file was imported and not saved yet while on other cases, it was a project saved from Archicad to Artlantis which has been saved several times that got deleted. Since each time it gives me option to save, and once i press save, it gives option that it cannot save. I had no option but to close and press don’t save.

  • In the screenshot, I was trying to edit and resave as atlo.
  • I didn’t use a reference file

Could you try to get the logs next time you have this issue and attach them to this post.
