Artlantis Update

Very good night to all
if you allow me an opinion, with all my respect to the administration and developers of Artlantis

Obviously there must be compelling reasons, but I do not understand why Artlantis has stopped and does not advance in new updates

I would like to indicate that Artlantis is a very complete, versatile program with extraordinary results… and like any other engine it has its details (which we must improve)… but it also has great virtues; which we must not forget

I see with concern the fact that in recent times (recent) we have not advanced, it seems that we have stagnated, there is no movement… a very sad silence

I can understand that there are currently extraordinary rendering engines that give incredible results… but we must not forget that Artlantis is a Pioneer in this world of 3d visualization

Is that understood?..Pioneer…it’s not a test that started yesterday,
It is a solid, reliable, versatile tool that many would like to achieve, with a simple, friendly and very easy to use interface.

With Artlantis you can achieve, transform, edit anything

Why are we going to stop now?

what do we need? maybe give a little more force to bump, normal, displacement and try to minimize rendering times

what other detail? In my opinion, nothing gentlemen… everything else we already have

If I’m not wrong, I have a license and use Artlantis since version 2.1, I’m not a super renderer, but I do know the benefits of our queen Artlantis

Let’s all try to make an effort and move on, « Cheer up », Artlantis and all of us deserve it

I am at your disposal for any detail, legraf50@gmail.com

Are there any spectacular changes coming in the next update? And when can we expect it, please?

I’m interested in beta-testing it.
Greetings, Filip Deslee (LOFT4C)

Hello Philip Deslee,

Thank you for your interest and also for all the wonderfull images you post on the Artlantis Facebook page !
We hope Artlantis next release will please you but as I said to Pedro, we do not have a beta release date yet.
But we will of course let you know ASAP when we have a beta version to test.

Best regards,
Camille

I hope the upgrade will be successful and I will not have to learn new software or convert libraries that have been collected for a long time. I have been with you since version 3

Good day. Can I join the beta test version?

Thank you for your interest.
When we have a beta version, we will let you know.

Best regards,

Good morning. I remind you about the readiness to support testing the new version.

Hello Camille,

I’m interest too for the beta-testing !

Best regards,

Have a nice day.

Hí everyone! Something new about next version?
Have a nice day.

I know this is an old thread. Three years has past since this very accurate appraisal of Artlantis and its future. In that time I have investigated many other rendering engines as I am sure you all have too. I keep coming back to Artlantis 2021 because it really does it all so effortlessly!! I have used Artlantis since 1995. It really was the first cross platform, affordable, easy to use, pioneering rendering package. I am in wonderment that so much intellectual time and money has been spent developing RT² when there is so much competition out there with the likes of Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion(shouldn’t have let that one get away), D5 etc. All of these new real time rendering packages do all sorts of things but only Artlantis 2021 does it all. Please, from all of us do not turn your back on this application it is a rip snorter!! All the newer programs seem to be too narrowly focused on certain aspects of rendering. Artlantis does it all and it does it quickly and is as stable as a rock. Sure there is room for improvement at the final stage but surely that can be overcome as pedroojas has pointed out. We have a great product here and a valuable one. I know many architects and designers would use Artlantis in preference to competiton if they knew how easy and flexible it was in preparing for the final render. The output simply needs refinement. Please continue to work on the little things that have now become the norm in high end rendering packages which this can easily be.
All the best

I got excited reading the other responses to this thread only to learn it was several years old. I too am an avid fan and constant user of Artlantis 2021 for exhibit design and fear that after the failed release of Artlantis R/T, most users have moved on. I don’t think anyone even works there anymore! There has been no activity or response for months. I agree with you though, it’s still the fastest and easiest software platform out there, but I may be making the switch to Twinmotion if I can prove it can be just as fast.

Good luck with your transition to Twinmotion. I have used it for a number of projects. It is difficult to navigate compared to Art2021, prone to freezing and every time you open it there is a timely delay as it updates itself. The final renders are okay. Art2021 is like a swiss army knife.
All it needs is a better rendering engine and you would have a winning product unlike anything else on the market instead of wasting time trying to compete with the other real time rendering engines. That ship has sailed.
My view is that if you know how to get the best from Art2021 the renders are as good as any other. It just takes a little more effort but all the tools are there.

Hi everyone
It’s sad but i think RT2 killed the idea of an easy&versatile software.

I translate below the newsletter received on this 5th of may 2025, i understand « that’s the end folks »!

"Dear user,

We regret to inform you that as of 12 May, we will be permanently ceasing distribution of Artlantis RT², Artlantis, iVisit 360 and RenderIN.

This decision follows the closure of Abvent R&D, the entity responsible for the development of these solutions, and is beyond our control.

As a result

  • No further updates will be offered,
  • Technical support is discontinued.

Of course, your perpetual licence can still be used .

If you have any questions about using the software, please consult the FAQ available online.

Thank you for your trust,
The Artlantis team"

That is an enormous blow!! Artlantis was a pioneer in its simplicity, speed, flexibility, camera navigation and usability across all platforms. Its results stood the test of time. Hopefully someone will recognise its value and relaunch it. It has so much to offer that most of the other competition do not. It is a shame that so much intellectual time was spent in developing RT² when it could have been spent refining and tuning Artlantis 2021 to stay inline with the newbies. As I have said before, for 30 years I have used this software with virtually no issues. It still has a very real value in a very competitive market. I will continue to use it until it no longer functions. I really hope Abvent R&D can find a new backer with a vision for the next 30 years. Cheers and thanks Mark Elliott.

I just happened to check in on this thread after a long time away. Wow! Sad. I was hoping the RT² V1 was just growing pains and ether was a diamond in the rough just around the corner. Its sad for me too! I have used Artlantis since v1. 1995 +/-, (along with other solutions), but for an efficient, trusted workflow, especially in tight deadlines, Artlantis was my go-to. I can still use 2021 for the immediate foreseeable future, but it probably means that I will need to find another solution soon enough, as the export link between Archicad to Artlantis most likely will be discontinued as well. Twinmotion, while good, is pretty unstable for me on my Mac (MacStudio-24core/128Gb RAM). I hope there is a chance another entity could resurrect this in the future, too!. Thanks for the long-run! Cheers - Lars
